Dr. Iman Elshenawy

Dr Iman gained her medical degree from Overseas in 1986 and from University of Queensland in 2001. She became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, RACGP, in 2006. She has over 20 years experience in medicine, and speaks both English and Arabic fluently.

Dr Laila El Shenawy

Dr. Laila graduated from Western Sydney University in 2013. She recently became a fellow of the RACGP. She speaks Arabic.

Dr Andrew Toh

Dr. Toh is a fully qualified Doctor graduated from Monash Uni in 2015. He is GP Registrar undertaking his training in our clinic to gain his fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioner.

Care outside our normal business hours is available by calling 0411 191 341. In an emergency call 000 or present yourself to the nearest emergency department of a hospital

APPOINTMENTS

We prefer you to book an appointment but are happy to see you without an appointment if the matter is urgent. Appointments are normally made at 10-15 minute intervals. If you desire a longer consultation, please discuss this with the receptionist when booking. The treatments that generally require a long consultation are cervical (pap) smears, full health check-ups, completion of forms, insurance medicals, lump removals, procedures, mental health issues, care plans, health assessment, home medication review, etc.

NON-ATTENDANCE of a booked appointment

All visits to the doctor are triaged and priorities are given to urgent matters. If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can give the appointment to another patient. Failure to attend an appointment may result in a fee of $60 being charged for non-attendance.

HOME VISITS

Home visits are available in certain circumstances at the discretion of the doctor.

TELEPHONING THE DOCTOR

Doctors do not take phone calls during consulting hours, unless urgent. Please leave a message and the doctor will respond as soon as they can.

RESULTS/RECALLS

Patients are requested and it is their responsibility to make an appointment to follow up their test results. Patients with urgent abnormal results will be contacted and asked to return to see the doctor immediately.

With patient consent, routine recalls i.e. immunization, pap smears and routine blood tests will be entered onto both the Medical Centre and National Recall databases. If you do not wish to be part of this recall system please advise the doctor or receptionist.

FEES

We Bulk Bill all patients who have a Medicare card. However certain procedures and consultations are not covered by Medicare. The costs of these procedures are available at reception or can be discussed with the doctor.

PATIENT PRIVACY

This practice is committed to providing comprehensive QUALITY CARE to all individuals and families who attend this medical centre. All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential & your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Copies of our Privacy Policy are available at reception.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

Communication with patients via electronic means is conducted with appropriate regard to privacy. Patients should know that there are risks associated with electronic communication in that the information could be intercepted or read by someone other than the intended recipient. We do not encourage sending patients health information through emails.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Other services we provide on site include a Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Dietician, Psychologist, and Pathology collection.

REFERRAL & ENGAGING IN OTHER SERVICES

Our practice regularly engages with local health services, such as specialists, allied health and hospitals. If required, your GP will provide sufficient information (a referral letter) to plan and facilitate optimal patient care.

PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE COMMUNICATION SERVICES

Patients who require communication assistance are asked to let the reception staff know when making the appointment.

FEEDBACK

We value patient feedback, comments or complaints. All matters of this nature will be referred to the practice manager or doctor. There is a suggestion box in the waiting room for your comments. Feedback forms are also available at Reception.
